“Of course I washed them!” your client says, giving you the innocent Puss in Boots eyes. But that grimy little clump of lashes, mixed with leftover makeup and the work of her oil glands, says otherwise. Lashes like that aren’t just impossible to fill, sometimes they’re hard to even clean properly.
Before you convince a client to wash her lashes, let’s figure out why she’s ignoring this simple rule.
Why doesn’t a client wash her lashes after a set?
She just doesn’t know she’s supposed to. If you mentioned washing in passing, she may not have heard it or paid attention. To get a client on board, walk her through it in conversation: tell her it’s necessary and why. Better yet, show her some scary photos from the internet and tell her THIS is what can happen if she skips cleansing her lashes.
She doesn’t know how to do it right. Show her a video and walk her through how to clean the interlash space properly.
She’s simply scared. Sometimes a client heard once that you can’t get extensions wet, and that’s it, now she won’t wash her face. You have to professionally talk her out of it and explain that it’s a myth. Explain what actually affects wear time, and reassure her that neither washing her face nor accidentally rubbing an eye will cost her her beautiful lashes.
