Before an application, you absolutely HAVE to prep the natural lashes! First, as we’ve known since childhood, hygiene is the foundation of health, and second, the cleaner the surface for bonding, the better the adhesive holds.
Step one is removing makeup. For this, you give the client an oil-free makeup remover (oil-free is a must), or micellar water and a cotton pad, and the client will actually remove the makeup faster and better herself. Many artists also ask clients to come in with their makeup already off to save time.
Step two is cleansing the natural lashes of microscopic dust particles and makeup residue, along with a detailed cleaning of the lash line. For this you use a dedicated lash cleansing brush and a foam. Apply the foam to the lashes, then clean them with the brush using rolling, gliding motions.
Step three is gently rinsing off the leftover foam with water and blotting the lashes with a cotton pad, so they’re completely dry before the application.
