Classic, 1.5D, 2D, 3D, 4D to 6D… with so many options, clients can find it hard to choose a volume that suits them.
So how do you choose the right volume?
A natural effect
If a client wants to look natural after her set, it’s worth recommending classic, 1.5D, or a partial set.
Classic means one extension is placed on each natural lash. And classic suits absolutely everyone.
A partial set covers about 50 to 60% of the lashes. The beauty of this method is that it emphasizes the outer corners of the eyes, which looks very soft and natural.
A 1.5D set is something in between classic and volume. The idea is that classic is alternated with 2D.
If you want a natural effect, we recommend using thin lashes with a diameter of 0.07 to 0.12 mm.
A bold, eye-catching effect
If your client loves being the center of attention, try a 2D or 3D volume set.
The result of a 2D set is beautiful, voluminous lashes that suit everyone, regardless of facial features or look.
A 3D set is the effect for sultry, dramatic looks. It suits clients with striking features or those who love bold makeup. And by the way, this volume can be made natural too, if you use thin lashes up to 0.07 mm.
The wow effect
4D to 6D volumes look very dramatic. To build 4D fans, use very thin, light lashes with a diameter of 0.03 to 0.05 mm so you don’t damage the client’s natural lashes.
Mega-volumes aren’t recommended for clients with small eyes, because against full, fluffy lashes the eyes can simply get lost.
6D sets weren’t originally meant for everyday wear, but many stylists do them at their clients’ request. Besides, many people’s natural lashes can support volumes up to 8D to 10D.
